Bloomington Baby Shower!

Last weekend we celebrated another wonderful baby shower here in Bloomington. It was so great to be with (almost) all the most important people in my life. There were a few very important people that couldn't make it but everyone was definitely there in spirit!

Here are a few pics from the big day.

Such a wonderful weekend!!! Thanks Kelly and Heather for planning it and Lisa for providing your beautiful home.

28 Weeks!

Today is the official 7 month mark! I started the day at 5:15 with Cali crying to go potty and Pinto getting its first bought of hiccups. It was so awesome.

Last weekend we headed to Cleveland for our baby shower. It was AMAZING! I am so overwhelmed with how generous people who really don't even know me can be. Babcha (what Pinto will call Darian's mom) did such an amazing job with the venue, food, decorations and favors. She also made this unbelievable diaper cake that is just beautiful. Here are a few pics:

 The pretty favors!

The yummy cake with a sweet little reminder that some very special people are watching over us!

The Hostesses!

The happy parents-to-be!

We had such a blast at the shower and it was fun to spend some quality time with the fam. The quote of the weekend goes to Baba (Darian's grandma) the first time she saw me. "You are getting so big" then as I walked past her "in the back too." Gotta love her! I thanked her for her honesty and saying what everyone else was kind enough NOT to mention.

26 weeks!

14 weeks to go. Time really does fly!

Here is my 25 week picture. I'll take a 26 weeker today and post but boy am I getting big. I made the mistake of weighing myself this week...granted it was after dinner (and ice cream) but holy moly! I'll wait to share the official count until the doctors office this week.

My rib has still been killing me and yesterday it felt like it popped. Gut wrenching, sudden, sharp pain when I was trying to sit up. Darian was sitting next to me when it happened and I totally freaked him out with my shriek. I felt terrible because I think he thought it was the baby but it felt like by bone had just popped out of place!

We were out last night and I was talking to a lady who said she had a slipped rib when she was pregnant and described it exactly! Unfortunately, you just have to deal with it but at least I know I'm not crazy (and it probably isn't anything more serious). She said hers just slid back in at some point so hopefully that is what will happen. Yuck.

We are headed out to the farmer's market today and doing a little yard work. It will be a quiet Easter since we are off to Cleveland on Thursday. Can't wait!

25 weeks!

Only 15 weeks to go! Whoa. That is CRAZY! I'm feeling great other than my achy breaky rib and some back pain. I saw the chiro again yesterday to get adjusted and did some "rehab" (aka someone taught me how to stretch). It is not surprising that I really like being popped and I really do feel better afterward. The back stuff is definitely muscular so I'll be incorporating massage into my regimen as well.

"It's a good one!" - Darian

That is going to be the tag line for this pregnancy. Every single time Darian sees my bare belly that is what he says. He has no clue he is doing it and it cracks me up! I know how strange it is every time I look at it and it's my body so I can't imagine how strange it is for him.

Last night I told him that at this point he might be able to hear the heartbeat if he puts his ear to my belly. His response, "uhhh, that's a little weird". Whenever it's moving I'll grab his hand and let him feel. He'll feel one or two movements and then pull away. I really think he is totally freaked out by the whole thing but just being super sweet and doing the best he can to act like it's really cool. He will not be winning any Oscar's for his performance.

BEDDING UPDATE: I think I've changed my mind on the bedding. I am working with a friend from high school, Nicole of www.twolittlefishblog.blogspot.com, that does custom baby bedding. It is an amazing company! They pair fabric they buy here with fabric made by women in Africa, thus supporting their village. SO right up my ally! Well, inadvertently she introduced me to the brighter version of the one I already had picked out. It is GORGEOUS and so fun!

First things first, I have to get a sample and make sure it would still look good with the wall color because that is not changing. I already want to paint the guest bathroom and second bedroom so Darian would KILL me if I changed that..plus, I really like the color it is.

Nicole is working on what coordinating colors she would put with this to keep it gender neutral. She is also looking at my original fabric and what pairings would go with that one. Either way I'm totally going with one of these fabrics. This brighter one would be so fun with the black crib and white wainscoting. Either way, I can have her do custom drapes and I won't feel like the fabric is overpowering the room which was why I'd been dragging my feet on ordering. Well, I now know why I've been dragging my feet! I found twolittlefish! I can support an amazing cause and get some fun custom bedding for Pinto. WIN WIN!!

23 weeks!

We had another ultrasound today so that they could get pictures of the heart. Pinto was so cute moving all around. We had to wake baby up but then it was opening and closing it's eyes, mouth and even licked it's lips! It is so crazy that you can see all that this early. Unbelievable.

Pinto weighed in at 1 lb. 4 oz.'s, 148 bpm and measured in the 49th percentile.

I can't believe how big I am getting! I am up 20lbs. No wonder I'm having all kinds of aches and pains in my ribs, back and tailbone. I just made a chiropractic appointment for next week so hopefully that will move things back to where they should be.

Here is my 21 week belly:

Big decisions have been made!

Thanks to Darian's parents we will have a GORGEOUS Amish made crib for baby Misky.

It converts to a toddler bed and then a full-size bed. Now we just have to pick out a dresser and have it made.

We've also decided on a chair. It is the Best Chairs story time series Tryp model. I still don't know what color but here is the model:

19 weeks!

Here is my 19 week 1 day belly:

It has definitely popped!

The doc said it would take another few months for Darian to feel the baby but she was wrong! He felt it on Saturday morning when it was swimming all around and kicking me! It is super active in the morning. When I'm laying on my back you can actually feel it through my skin. Crazy. I can't wait until it is strong enough for him (and I) to feel it consistently.

I have been having a lot of little contractions. Apparently that is normal, the doc just said if it happens more than 4 x per hour to call. So far it is pretty sporadic and when it happens I try to lay on my left side and they seem to go away.

We registered (sort of) on Saturday. Holy overwhelming!! If you have any must have tips, send them my way! We got the big stuff out of the way but it's the little stuff that is going to be cumbersome. I've enlisted a few experts so hopefully they will help fill in the gaps.

Time to go organize the office. Fun stuff.
